Kyaing Tong City History

KyaingTong( Town of Ethnic Tribes)

KyaingTong is the capital ciry of the Golden Triangle Region. The town is surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains and offers travellers a chance to visit the remote villages of this peaceful tradig town. The area is perfect.for trekking,leading to villages of 13 nationalities Ahku,Ahka,Palaung,Eng,or Lahu races. They retain their traditional costumes and way of life. It is a very scenic town as it is built around asmall lake and is dotted with ageing Buddhist temples and crumbing British Colonial architecture. Kyaing Tong lies in thw valley between th high misty muontain of the Shan Plateau and Mekong and the Thanlwin River.
